Daughters of Zelophehad

Zelophehad had five daughters; Mahala, Noa, Hegla, Milka and Tirtsa.

After Zelophehad died, on his way from Israel to Egypt, his daughters demanded of Moses for their inheritance to be split between the five of them. With courage, resourcefulness and wisdom, the girls brought to a renewal of the law which meant that for the first time, girls inherited their father’s heritage whether or not there were male sons as well.

(Joshua 17)
